IVR Services

Although this may sound complex, it is actually much simpler than you might think, and is used by the majority of large companies to direct calls to the correct departments. More often than not when telephoning a large company you will be asked to use the keypad of your touch-tone telephone to indicate which department you wish to speak to, eg Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Accounts etc.

But IVR can be used for much more than just directing calls. Many people don’t realise the potential of this service and the options available to them. Data collection Surveys can be implemented through IVR, eliminating the potential mistakes from collecting data through traditional methods such as mail. Conducting a survey via IVR is simple, as the caller merely chooses from the available options using the keypad, and this method is efficient and can also save your business money.

Many premium rate services also use IVR. If you were to set up a competition line, one of the easiest ways is to set up a recorded message where the callers can submit their answers to a series of multiple choice questions by pressing the correct number on the keypad. The advantage of IVR in this instance is that the answers can then be emailed to the competition co-ordinator, and the results are simple to organise.
